How is eDeutsch different from Deutsche Zeit?
Deutsche Zeit is a language school with teachers in class. eDeutsch is where you practise between lessons — the timed exam room, reading with tap-to-translate, the vocabulary book, the materials. Both sides share one account and one database, so there is nothing to sync and nothing to re-enter.
Can I use this if I have never studied at Deutsche Zeit?
Yes. Create an account and the practice room is open, with no connection to the school required. If you are not sure where to start, take a test to find out where you stand — no sign-in needed, and it lays out a path just for you: what you already know gets folded away, the rest becomes your study order.
How much is free, and where does paying start?
Free: the first 5 tests in every skill, at every level (Lesen, Hören, Schreiben, Sprechen — A1 to B2), plus the vocabulary book, pronunciation practice and the study-path page. Opening the whole test library takes a Deutsche Zeit course or the matching set of materials for that level. The free reading library is for learners enrolled in a course.
What scale does the AI mark writing on?
Four criteria, exactly as Goethe marks: content 3 points, grammar 3, vocabulary 2, structure 2 — 10 in total. More useful than the number: it lists every mistake, rewrites the sentence correctly, and says why it was wrong. When it is done you know what to fix, not just what you scored.
How does the vocabulary book remind me to review?
Words you look up while reading go into the book with the sentence you met them in — learning in context, not from a loose list. After that it reminds you at 45, 90, 180 and 360 days, which is right before you are about to forget, and the exercises are built from those very words.
Are there telc or TestDaF tests?
Not yet. Right now there is Goethe and ÖSD from A1 to B2 — the two share one set of tests. telc and TestDaF are in the works; when they are ready they open in the same practice room, with nothing to buy again.
Once I buy materials, can I lose them?
No. Buy once, download and keep, and later updates are free — when a book is corrected or gains new exercises you download the new version at no extra cost. Your materials also stay in your account library, so a lost file is one download away.
